Michelle Dale is the founder of Virtual Miss Friday, an Online Business Consultancy and Academy with Built-In Virtual Assistant Services and the creator of 1nSourcing™ – a service that specializes in serving 6 and 7 figure business owners.

She left the UK in 2005, at the age of 23 to pursue a dream of experiencing real freedom. She has grown into a successful location independent online service and digital product business, traveling and living abroad full time, and raising 3 children with her husband.

She now supports men and women around the world in cultivating their own professional and personal aspirations in the digital world.

Let’s get to know her more as she answers these questions in our Expert Interview Series.

When and how did you get started as a virtual assistant?

I started in 2005 when I left the UK to travel, and I needed a way to make money online.

What challenges have you encountered in running your virtual assistant business, and how did you overcome them?

Challenges include:

Not having a dedicated office space, which you can overcome with practice.

Difficulty in trust because you’re essentially trusting someone who you’ve never met.

What are some red flags that we should look out for when working with clients? 

Anyone who questions money, or asks for a discount – ask about their financial situation and be sure they can really afford your services.

The other thing to look for is anyone who has difficulty with working purely online through a project management space or client area.

If you lost it all and had to start again from scratch, how would you go about it again? 

I’d do the same – exactly.

If you could give one piece of advice to budding virtual assistants what would it be?

Stay in the moment, don’t overthink too much and do whatever you can to gain confidence.

What project/s are you working on right now?

I’m working on a personal development program aimed at helping people develop a more loving relationship with themselves to further their career, relationships, health and all other aspects of life.

I’m also about to release my first digital program aimed at clients for creating a successful digital product business.
