What does your normal workday look like?

I start my day with what I call, “inner victories,” that includes prayer, Bible meditation, and quick book reading. This habit allows me to gain confidence even before going to the office and doing excellent work.

By then, I review all my priorities for the day. If I’m not invited to do a speaking engagement in a company/school, I go straight to the office. Here’s a summary of my daily work routine:

  • 8 – 10 am (writing blog posts or guides for SharpRocket blog section)
  • 10 am to 12 pm (answering client inquiries, sending client proposals and scheduling calls for the week)
  • 1pm to 5pm (testing new strategies and personal client consulting). I also set time for interruptions and answering questions in admin, management, and overall team group chats.
  • 5 pm onwards (social activities – if not, reading books/watching podcasts/videos at home)
  • 8pm onwards (client calls and personal client consulting)

How many times did you feel like giving up before you finally made it?

I’m not sure about the number, but I’d say that there are moments that I don’t feel like I’m doing a lot of work and getting results from it. That is frustrating at times, but I’ve learned not to be hard on myself, be more focused on my priorities and continually grow, learn and share what I gained with other people.

How do you keep yourself motivated and inspired when things aren’t going so great?

Self-motivation isn’t what most speakers will tell you – that is, results of one task that requires discipline will motivate you to do another work.

You don’t have to wait for speakers of seminars/podcast or a person to motivate you at all, let the results of work produces the motivation. If I want to accomplish a lot of things, I start with the little ones. These small accomplishments give the motivation to complete the next bigger tasks. That’s how I motivated myself every day.

If you could give one piece of advice to budding entrepreneurs what would it be?

Identify your strengths and niche expertise. Capitalize on that. Prioritize cashflow early on (don’t be fancy with office supplies and equipment if it’s a digital service agency you’re trying to start with). Test and grow.

I like what business philosopher Jim Rohn said,”Work harder on yourself than you do on your job”.

Invest in yourself by reading books and attending seminars/workshops/conferences that are relevant to your field.

What project/s are you working on right now?

Besides running my agency, I manage a health affiliate website, doing personal consulting and speaking in companies/schools (2-4 times a month).
